Feb. 19th, 2009 will mark mine and Jared's TEN YEAR ANNIVERSARY! This seems so monumental to me---a whole decade. Sure, it is not our 25th, or 50th, or eternity for that matter, but it feels like an important step towards those milestones.
To celebrate we are going to take a trip--together--alone. This will be the first time we have ever been alone for more than a few hours since we had an overnight stay in Park City when Landon was little.
My oh-so-romantic husband has planned a trip, but isn't telling me where we are going! I won't know 'til the airport. The only thing that I know is that I haven't heard of the place, I need to renew my passport, possible snorkeling and/or scuba diving, and that it has something to do with corn! Corn?! He said that that hint was meant to confuse, not clarify. Trust me, I am confused!
So, here is my question: Where do you think this mysterious place could be? I am going to do a game. Whoever chooses the closest location I will send you a postcard--and maybe a rock. :)
Da Browns
Welcome to the jungle!
Our jungle has a mighty lion king, Jared; his sultry lioness, Tamany; three crazy monkeys, Landon, Tyler, and Ethan; and a beautiful gazelle, Isabel. It also has a beast, Phoebe, our mastiff.
Life in our jungle is much like other jungles: a constant searching for food. It consists of finding the food, killing it, bringing it home, preparing it, eating it, cleaning it up, and trying to share with others what we found.
This blog is to share the highlights of what happens in our jungle during that process.

Mom, she love us
While at dinner with Gramie, I asked where she was. The boys said she was standing in line waiting to get them their pizza from the buffet line. I said, "What!" Tyler looked at me and emphatically announced, "Mom, she loves us!"

Yes! I'm the first to wager a guess. Mine guess is so obvious, it can't possibly be the right one, but here goes...
ReplyDeleteCanned Corn = Cancun
Have a great time!
I remember the trip you took when Landon was little and he wasn't so happy about it! Time goes so quickly...
ReplyDeleteMy guess is it is a place where the local language is not english. (How's that for a guess!)
Oh, that is my dream! I need Jer to get on here and read this! Who is keeping your kids? Want to bring them here?
ReplyDeleteI am so good at geography, that if you have never heard of it then I know I will never guess it right. (Can I have a postcard anyway?) I am so excited for you!
Well, the corn only tells me that you're coming to see me here in Dubai!! :-(
ReplyDeleteHave a great time and Happy Anniversary!!
Okay, my friends and I TOTALY have it figured out, but now you won't let me guess, so you have to call me from the airport and so I can see if I'm right. I will be expecting my postcard...with a postmark OTHER then Houston, TX! :) (And you can just bring my rock next time I see you.)
ReplyDelete10 years. One whole decade. That is amazing. Good job. Have fun on your anniversary trip. I have no idea (corn?) but I would guess it is a small island if you are not supposed to have heard of it. Trinidad and Tobago?
ReplyDelete10 years! That is like 50 in hollywood years. Good job. I have no idea where you are going but it sounds like fun. I suck at getting surprised, though. I almost always know the surprise before the delivery.
